SIMON FRASER UNIVERSITY
McMaster University is located in Hamilton, and comprises 57 buildings, 122 programs, and over 21 500 students [1]. It was first established in the year 1887 and is split into six different academic facilities: Degroote School of Business, Engineering, Health Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Science [2] . They’re known as the McMaster Marauders with their mascot named “Mac the Marauder.” The institution is home to over 300 student organizations and clubs, however, they do not recognize any fraternities or sororities [2]. Their main academic policy is known as the “McMaster Model,” which focuses on a student-centred, problem-based, interdisciplinary approach to learning which has been used since the 1960s [2]. Only 3700 students live in twelve on-campus residences with a range of building sizes and dormitory styles [1]. Finally, McMaster University is a member of a group of research intensive Canadian universities known as the U15 [2].

UNIVERSITY OF VICTORIA
University of Victoria is an elite school, located in unique Victoria, BC [1]. It’s also a very old school, being one of the first higher education institutions in BC (established in 1903) [1]. The school is fairly large, with over 20,000 students enrolled, one main campus, and 104 programs offered [1]; specifically, UVic offers business, law, engineering, education, fine arts, human & social development, humanities, sciences, and social sciences [2]. UVic’s mascot is “Thunder” the viking, representing the “Victoria Vikes” [3]. UVic offers 200 unique student-led clubs, ranging from academic, leisure, developmental, social, and professional categories; “Vikes Recreations” offers students a cacophony of activities to stay active, have fun, and even scratch your competitive itch [4]. UVic has a very strict smoking policy, with designated areas being marked as the only locations for smoking; cannabis benches are also designated for students [5]. The school’s colours are red, gold, and blue; UVic can also trace its roots all the way back to Victoria College [3]. During its illustrious existence, UVic has gained affiliations with: IAU, CUSID, AUCC, CBIE, etc. [3].
