Established in 1908, UAlberta has campuses in Camrose, and Edmonton Alberta, and teaches 39,312 students through 151 programs [1]. This university has 18 faculties including; a Faculty of Arts, and a Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry [2]. Female and male varsity teams have different mascots; the male team’s mascot is a golden bear, and the female’s mascot is a panda [2]. UAlberta has a varsity team for almost every sport you can think of! Some may include basketball, football, hockey, curling etc. [2]. Although between 1909-1929 sororities and fraternities were banned, the students fought to get them back and now UAlberta offers eleven fraternities and six sororities to their students [2]. The official colours of this institution are green and gold. Finally, the University of Alberta is a member of a group of research intensive Canadian universities known as the U15 [2].
